Quality healthcare cover at the right price to meet your family's needs.

What is medical aid?

You buy private health insurance for the same reason you buy other types of insurance - to protect your family.

You cannot predict when  you need medical care.

When dealing with an illness, cost is the last thing you want on your mind.

A health plan is important for both individuals and families because it relieves the burden of any unexpected medical emergencies.
The insurance company charges a monthly fee called premium.
Health insurance provides you with the means to look after yourself and your family.

There are options to consider when it comes to health insurance, namely
fully comprehensive or medical aid and entry-level or
hospital plans.

Medical aid is fully comprehensive private health insurance because it provides indemnity cover for all medical claims including
doctor, hospital, medicine and laboratory expenses.

A hospital health plan is entry-level private health insurance because it provides indemnity cover only for hospitalization and surgery related expenses with fewer or no allowances for day-to-day costs.

There are also a number of medium cost, medium benefit health insurance plans that fall between comprehensive medical aid plans and hospital health plans.

  • ANNUAL REVIEW
Is your medical aid scheme still appropriate to your particular circumstances?  Are there beneficiaries that need to be added, or removed, from cover?  You are able to change your medical aid options on an annual basis.   Select the option most suitable to your circumstances at your financial planning annual review.
